 Mmmm. Bushmills for Lunch
I just had a cat that's been with me for 17 years, put to sleep.

Just thought I'd share that.

FVCK!

Sorry about that. I had an awesome cat once that I felt that way about when he had to go too. Some of the other pets are not that big of a deal but you can get one sometimes that are special. Just be happy that you were able to provide him/her a great life and have good memories.

Many people don’t euthanize pets, and that’s really sad.

Some people act very selfish when the pet is suffering and can’t or don’t want to let it go, but you made the right call.

Sounds like your cat had pretty much reached the top end of the cat “mileage”.

This might not help much – but take shelter in the fact that you provided a good life for your pet and again did the right thing.

Cats are really cool little beings…you can always get another, when you feel like it.

    Chin-up and Cheers.

Wow, what a total drag! You have all my sympathies. It's always very tough to put down a great pet, be it a cat or a dog. A couple of years ago, I had to put down FFW's pet rat, as I came home and it was hanging on the ragged edge. Ran it to the vet and they were helpful, but I still cried over that poor rat. Life's too short and I'm almost like that Indian sect that reveres all life.

During the holidays, there was a large brown spider trapped in the sink in the unused guest bathroom. I thought about him for a few days. He was surviving in the slick and cold porcelian darkness, unable to get out the steep sides. Should I just take a kleenex and smash it, dropping the remains in a toilet? What to do. The next day, I went in with a plastic cup and a piece of cardboard and trapped him by coaxing him under the cup, while using the card as a floor. Took him out in the front yard by the shrubbery and it was a warm, sunny winter day. I dropped him off on a rock and after scrambling a short distance, the spider just sat there soaking the rays and warming up. He or she or whatever it was, was dark brown, with lighter colored stripes, not ugly at all. I carefully stepped away and let the spider have it's day. Life is just not about us.

If that cat was with you for seventeen years, it had to be a good bud. I'm sorry about your loss.

Wow, well at least you eased his/her pain and did the right by your beloved pet.
it's never easy Bud,perhaps there's a cool scratch or 2 on you or somewhere in the house, and, the cool and naughty times you guys shared will always be there.

Regis, all live is sacred, even those of mosquitoes, but hey, those SB's don't get a brake with me X~p

I took like spiders, always set them free on the yard., now and then they catch those minuet blood suckers 8~0
