    • Santa Hill-Start at Carls and head up the fire road about 1/3 mile. Turn right onto a well maintained walking trail. About 1/3 mile on this look for a place in the fence were it is loose and there are bike tracks coming from it. You will know you are in the right place if there is an immendiate cliff that is 10 ft tall that you must climb with your bike. Take the trail for a while and you will come to a "Y". Make sure to turn right. Take it to the very top were you will find a large pole sticking out of hte ground. Come down the way you came and chek out the BMX jumps on the other side of the walking trail.

    • Trail UpdateFor A MUCH Longer Extension-I've been exploring ALOT since the last update and found a much longer trail. Its still pretty beginner (smooth fire road) but offers about a 2 hour ride both ways. I will post details as a new trail when I get some accurate information.

    • Trail UpdateSanta Village?-My family and I spent the weekend at San Clemente State Park camping and I pulled the directions for this ride from the web site. This is such a brief ride that I thought I had not found it. The veiw is great and I did head down through the shooting range (it was early in the morning and no one was around, wow!!!! this part of the trail is very soft). I went through the San Mateo camp ground and down to the beach at trestles. I contunied along the railroad tracks back to camp. There seems to be alot of open spaces out east of San Clemente, Where are the real trails???????????

    • Trail UpdateNot Such A Beginner-The second part of this ride, Eric correctly described as a STEEP but small uphill however, I doubt that any beginner rider will get up it. It can be quite rutted and soft at times. This section will only be ridden by an Intermediate or better rider. BUT it is worth it to walk the bike up it if you have to because the view is AWESOME! Also....because this is a very short ride, you can easily pop over to the San Mateo campground by taking a right at the intersection he described and crossing over Christianitos Rd. There are some short trails there and even one that goes down to Trestles beach. Take a break there and watch the surfers!

    • Trail UpdateEnter the trail and ride about 1/2 mile up to A intersection of the trail. Turn right to go play on some BMX jumps or go straight to start the small but easy uphill. At the end of the first part there is a very steep but small uphill. ***Make sure you go right***. Although the downhill looks fun you'll drop yourself right into a rifle range. Turn right and up to the big blue pole that sticks up. There is a great view from up there. On a clear day you can see a great view of the ocean and all of Catalina. You can also see San Clemente Island on a perfectly clear day. If you look to the right you can see Dana Point Harbor, and behind you is Sadleback Mountain. There is very skinny and steep downhill from there but you are better off going down the way you came up.
The whole trail is about 2 miles long and is easy but fun with an awesome view.
