Use the I 210 Frwy east into Glendora. Exit on Grand Ave. and travel north to Sierra Madre Ave. Turn right (east) about 2 miles. Turn left (north) on Glendora Mountain Rd. The road is closed about 1 mile up. You can park here and mount your bike. Ride about 1/2 mile to a gate on your right at the Little Dalton Picnic Ground. This is the start of Lower Monroe Trail. You may want to park on the street at the bottom,,,,some punk kids have been vandalizing cars. Thomas Guide page 569

• Trail UpdateGMR -- Monroe Truck Trail-The lower section of Monroe is relatively dry now and great for riding. There is a muddy section at the bottom that can be very messy at certain times of the year. This section is commonly known as "Hudds Mudd". There are a couple of hair-pin vista's that stand out during the climb. The first one that you come to is known as "Suicide #1" and is the starting point for a really nice single track called "Moonscape". This single track leads to the bottom of Big Dalton Cyn and is maintained by the equis. center at the mouth of the canyon. The second hair-pin vista is much higher and is known as suicide #2. There are a couple of really nice freeway sections that are a blast. All in all this is a really good training ride that should take a good sport class rider or a middle of the pack expert rider 50 minutes from gate to gate. An experienced rider can cruise up in 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Tinker Juarez has been spotted on this trail several times and supposedly has the record of 39 minutes gate to gate. - Ride it while its nice :) its not muddy at the bottom. JW
