5 deer to Golden Eagle update
Looks like Friday April 20th for this.

Start at my house in Palmdale and ride about 4 miles of Elizabeth Lake Rd to Lazy T Ranch where the dirt begins. From there, it's 35-40 miles of fire roads and some excellent (and legal) ST thrown in to end up at Sandberg Inn on Old Ridge Route. Then it's back the same way or if tired, can bail out and come back on pavement at numerous points. There is a lot of up and down on this ride - I don't know the total elevation gain but it's a tough ride.

Sorry about the Friday, it's my 9/80 day off and all my weekends are tied up through the end of June with family obligations.

If interested, send me an email

Sounds like a good ride Dubya.
I'll try and work it out, but no promises. This freakin' racing thing eats up weekends too.
    See ya at Kville.

      Hey Papo,
My kids eat up ALL my weekends so no racing this year, again. I'm in Rancho Cucamonga this weekend coaching and refing a soccer tourney. Rode w/STP and Sarge last night. Reg took it easy 'cause he's up pre-riding today - Sarge is frggin fast now! I'm fat n slow on the hills but can still mix it up on the downs and flats. Sucks to be slow :) Hope to ride with ya sometime.

Good luck this weekend - go kick some @ss!

FFW...how do I contact you and STP via email...am I to take it he's up here at Keyesville gathering beta while I sweat and toil packing up the trailers with race equipment? And if he would have called me I could have had an excuse to get up to Keyesville today (again) and not work? LOL I can relate to your being jammed with soccer stuff...I'm just starting to experience the same things...for what it's worth. That ride you mention sounds pretty cool. I may be in...but I'm looking at doing the Socal State Series and/or the National at Firestone, so, who knows? I'm heading into Keyesville with little or no "training", pneumo bugs in my chest and every friggin' joint in my body in rebellion, or so it seems. I think I'll see STP in line and then not again until the finish...sigh.
Here's another idea you may be interested in...if the snow is gone (and it probably will be) how about doing a Shirley Meadows/Unal Trail/Rancheria Rd/Oak Flat Trail/Badger Gap Trail/Kern Canyon Trail and finish at Delonegha Bridge 35-40miles half S/T, half fire road (or add-on another 16 miles of s/t and head back to Keyesville on the Kern Canyon Trail for a grand total of approx 55-60miles)? Just an idea...hope you get to ride soon!

you should be able to click on my handle at the bottom of this post to e me. If it doesn't work, I think I still have yours somewhere. Hope you can make my epic on the 20th! Hey, how's your dad? I miss talking with him here except all he did was talk about you guys :) Tell him I say hey.

Don't worry bout STP - he's getting faster but he's not trained all the way up yet so you still got a chance :)

I've always wanted to ride up there in your stomping grounds - it will probably have to be on another of my off Fridays though. I'll talk to you though.

Good luck at KV this weekend!
