WHITING RANCH - LUGE RIDE
Freaky, I did the Whiting Ranch - Luge route yesterday (for the first time). Great medium mileage ride (16 miles).
Plenty of hikers and mtbers up there...most of the mtbers mtbed within the confines of WR.
As soon as I crossed Santiago Canyon Rd and ascended Modjeska Grade Rd, I only saw two other mtb groups up there. One only went as far as the flag (for The Luge), while the other went further up then came back to The Luge. Just about everyone I encountered (hikers and mtbers alike) passed along greetings as I passed, friendly bunch up that way. Some excellent 'eye candy' as well!!
Q: Was wondering if adding Old Camp to same route...what extra benefit (besides mileage) could I expect?
