Canal - Massillon
There is a trailhead behind Ernie's bike shop at Lake St. and state Rte. 21. The trail runs along the old canal bed, traveling north-south parallel to Rte. 21 Another trailhead is at Forty Corners and Erie (which is the same as 1st St. a couple miles north of Massillon)

This dirt path is flat and smooth, since it more or less follows the towpath used years ago by mules to pull boats in the canal. The area is generally uncrowded, and is suitable for people just starting out, kids, or more experienced riders who want to put in easy miles on dirt.
