I got the brakes adjusted but the front brake squeals like crazy. I talked to the tech at La Habra Cycles and he said that I should take the pads out and clean, replace and test. If they still squeal them replace them.

I asked why newer brakes would squeal and he stated that they have either been glazed or they got oil on them. Apparently you need to break in the new pads so as not to glaze them.

What is required to break them in, everything I ride is either all uphill or all downhill I don't ride much flat stuff.

One thing to try would be to LIGHTLY sand down the pads. I've tried this and my breaks stopped squealin.... :)

I sanded them down lightly and then cleaned them with rubbing alcohol. It seemed to have worked. Thanks for your help.
