 Cassette change clarification
More clearly, I want to upgrade the cassette to dura ace 12-27 from Ultegra ?-23. Can I do so by simply taking off the old cassette and replacing it with a 9 spd. dura ace, without purchasing any other parts or making any any other modifications?

thanks

I have noticed that Dura Ace now has a 10 spd rear cassette so make sure that you get the right one(you said 9spd). You will need the cassette remover tool.
One problem that you may encounter(depending on how old and worn your chain is) is the chain will not grab the gears on the new cassette properly because the chain my have stretched. This may cause you to get a new chain. So now you might need new chainrings as well.
I usually try to switch my chains every 2 months to avoid these problems.
