 New bike.
Time to buy a new bike. got about $2,200 bucks, whant a all around bike, somewhere in betwen 28-30lbs heavy. i'm thinking about the gary fisher cake dlx2. any segestions out there?

    Except for the weight restriction, I'd go for a late '90s XR 250. But I'm biased, as you know, and completely ignorant about mtn bikes, as some have opined.

    Other bikes you can look at as all arounders.

    Trek Liquid
    K2 Lithium
    Iron Horse Hollowpoint
    Jamis XLT

    Just some other options to look into that are similar to the fisher.

    You could get a Turner Burner at Supergo for $850, a 100mm Fox Vanilla RL fork for $350 (CambriaBike.com) and that leaves you with $1100 for a build kit like the XT M750 kit at BeyondBikes.com. I think that's what I would do for $2200 (tax not included) but the Cake 2dlx seems very nice too.
