 LAKE OR SIDI MTB SHOES?
I'M IN THE MARKET FOR NEW MTB SHOES, I'M INTO LONG CASUAL RIDES THAT OFTEN ENTAIL STREAM CROSSINGS AND OTHER HIKING SECTIONS, I'M THINKING SIDI BUT THE NEW LAKES WITH THE VIBRAM SOLES LOOK GOOD AS I OFTEN RIDE CLIPPED OUT ON SWITCHBACKS.BOULDERS,EXPOSURE, ETC. MY MAIN CONCERNS ARE DURABILITY,WALKABILITY.ANY INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED

I switched from Shimano to Sidi 2 years ago, and haven't looked back.

SIDI for sure. Well worth the money.

I've been research new shoes and it seems like the Sidi's get great reviews except for one fact....the tread on the soles is very hard and does not have good traction, so I'm thinking of getting something else as I do need to hike a bike occassionally and climb over rocks/boulders, etc.

I think SIDI's are the best shoes I've ever worn, but I don't wear my SIDI's anymore because I bought the "SRS" replaceable sole versions. The SRS soles are so soft that any walking (or pushing one's bike up hills because one eats too much and rides too little) shreds them like wet tissue paper. The regular SIDI sole is much more durable.

Another vote for Sidis, but yeah, with the regular sole. Mine have been going strong for two years now and I am very hard on mtb shoes. No signs of wear except for dirt and some sole wear, but not much.
