 Maxxis Hansventure, anyone tried them?
My current tire set up on my Foes is a Panny FR 2.4 in front and a 2.5 Weirwolf in the rear. I'm interested in getting a "tacky" rear tire and was looking at the Hansventure. No review for it on mtbr, so just wondering if anyone has tried them yet? I'm open to other suggestions also. I want at least a 2.3 tire in the rear, and don't want more than 850ish grams.

If you're not doing Stan's NoTubes, try the Nokian NBX. The 2.3" is a great tire with very predictable handling characteristics. It feels like a 2.5" but rolls faster and hooks up just as well.

Well I couldn't resist the temptation and bought a Hansventure. Put it on and went to ride El Morro. My first ride impressions are very good, this tire really sticks in the corners and didn't feel it slip once on any of the steep climbs. Compared to the Weirwolf it felt glued to the ground on corners in loose gravel. It seems to roll very well, and felt like it took less effort climbing up I think I can. It's a bit pricey, but so far seems like a great tire. We'll see how it wears, but shouldn't be too bad with a 60 durometer. Thanks for the suggestion on the Nokian.....I'm always trying new tires ;)

Yes, you are always up for new tires, if anyone is interested in buying any used tires, contact RDC, he has about 20 of them.

I just purchesed a set of Maxxis Mobsters2.3 super tacky. These tires are great in So Cal conditions and stick like glue. They weigh 800-900grms and roll very well. The sidewalls are very stiff and resist pinch flats.I was using Kenda kenetics2.3s but had many pinch flats. The mobsters make a great hardcore trail tire.Just another option for you.
