1. Hutchinson Mosquito---hardly any mutha#!&* n tread and wears out too fast for genral trailbike use.

2. Anything from IRC---wears quickly

3. Cornell 195HR15---wears quickly on my 74 Maverick

    1. Mosquito is fast rolling and a great XC tire, just don't freeride with it.

    2. The IRC Mythos XC is perhaps the best all around XC tire I've ever used.

    Cornell? WTF.

Fatty, are you for real? I've thought for a while that you're just a character brilliantly invented by one of our jokers on this site. I need to meet you in person.

OK, in a show of goodwill, I invite you to the 949 to ride Aliso with me. I will ride a 2004 hardtail frame with hydro disc brakes and components manufactured this century. You feel free to bring any of your 1995-1998 bikes. We'll ride and compare. I'll also let you ride the V10 with VPP technology and you can compare it to your favorite full suspension design. Let's call this meeting Introduction to Mountain Bike Technology 101, Instructor, El Jefe Seriously. I've given you enough shiite that I should at least attempt to get to know you before I make any more disparaging remarks toward you. Of course you realize that any observations I make or conversations we have are fair game for the board, right?Email me...I dare ya. ;-)

WTF are you talking about, regarding IRC? I've been running the IRC Mythos XC for years (I have a set on the bike right now) and they wear plenty long. They aren't the absolute best, but I'll tell you what, if you know what you're doing on a bike, you can shred really hard with these tires.

They have great grip and a nice breakaway, both front and rear. I can't tell you how many times, I've busted the front wheel loose on the loose stuff and just pulled it all back in, nice and easy. I love these tires! You knoweth not what you talketh about, though you are entitled to your opinion.

I've never really pretended to know what I'm doing on an MTB, and I'm sure I don't have what it takes to ride the Mythos front because I found its "breakaway" tendencies far exceeded my willingness or ability to ride with that high quality of product on my bike. The back tire's fine.

Not to mention that IRC Trailbears take forever to wear out.

I'll get a lot of crap for this one, but last season I blew out at least 8 or 9 Panaracer XC pros. The worst part was that I had Stans in all of them and only one sealed, and that was back at home in NM.
No more of those for me.
    Peace outside

Right up your alley: '99 FSR XC stock tire that came with the bike off the show-room floor. A vintage piece of crap if there ever was one. You could be ridin', suckin' on Lags peppers and break away so hard that you'd find yourself drinkin' latte's in the 310 in a nano second. Now, that tire was a POS!!!! For real. And, I don't believe you exist either. Oh yeah, the yellow side stripe was cute as well.

I agree with the Hutchy Mosquito suckin' ass. They wore out rather quick and the traction factor wasn't that great when they were new.
