 caliper slippage, i dunno....
i've been having trouble with my rotor rubbing the pads when re-inserting my front wheel before a ride. i have the stock hayes hfx-9 hydros with the stock marzocchi mx comp fork. i am not touching the lever at all,(without the wheel installed) but just about everytime i put my front wheel on after i take the bike out of the fork mounts in my truck, the rotor rubs the pads. it is getting old having to re-adjust the caliper position on the fork before every ride. does anyone have any ideas what the culprit could be? the bike is just about a month old, and has been out on the trails around 6 times. I'd check your hub, the quick release and the dropouts. Either the hub is loose, or the qr/dropout interface isn't seating the same each time you insert the wheel.

I had the same problem (Hayes Hydro, Zoke X-Fly, King hub). My King hub axle flange has sort of a knurled edge, which never seats exactly the same in the fork dropouts. What worked for me was to put matching marks on the hub axle and the fork dropout. As long as I match up those marks when I reinstall the wheel, there is no problem with the brakes dragging. Good luck.

Sometimes happens to me if my qr isn't tight enough.

Thanks everyone, I was kinda thinking the same thing, that the QR wasn't tight enough, or that the QR isn't sitting in the same position when I reinstall the wheel.

I'll tweek out on it tonight and see what I can do.
