San Diego century ride
Has anyone done it? Is it fairly flat or are there a ton of climbs?

Oh, that one. It's flat and easy. Sign up early because it fills up extremely fast.
Check out the Alpine Challenge on 4/29. Much more challenging.

well, this will be my first century ride so I don't think I want to start out with alpine...looks like a good goal for next year

The Amtrak is a great "first" century. But definitely get on their e-mail list, or pay close attention to the opening day of registration, because the rider limit usually fills up within a few hours.
