 Cool Breeze Aug 20
Anyone riding this?

I got roped into it by a friend who flaked on me (two years in a row now). Thankfully it is a great ride with good food and support and beautiful scenery. I'm racing at Rim Nordic the next day so expect to ride pretty mellow - probably 6 hours (last year did in 4:26 riding time with my friend Dave Cooley). If anyone's riding and wants to hook up send me an email.

You're a manimal FFW. Do you usually go on 6 hour flogs before a race? ;-)

I think I'm kinda stupid myself! Lots of fun but the racing's (and me) gonna suffer - kinda wanted to try for the win over STP.

Before the Rim Nordic stage race I did a cross country (running) race Thursday and about 3 hours on the mtb Friday. It's just hard to pass up a good time and the more the merrier >8-P BTW, Cycling causes brain damage remember... or was that drugs, well either way

come out n race RN on the 21st?!

Don't stop him! Let FFW go on that Cool Breeze ride, as I've got to race against him the next day. That'll almost guarantee me a spot ahead of him! <8^)

It's always good to have a backup excuse but you race better than I do anyhow. Race Expert next year with me though and I'll serve you up some dust - anything less than 20 miles is for weenies ;-)

Now unless you've got a good floggin to recount, go back and hide you lurker!

Ahhhhh shiiiiiiat, what the hell is goin' on over here.
I'll be doing the (cinammon)Rim Nordic, especially cuz of what happened with my last race up there.
That is a lot of riding before a race Dave, but if you are used to it, then go for it. Any of you High Desert creatures doing the BB this weekend?

            Sorry missed your message...
Haven't exercized at all this week and am hibernating this weekend - last weekend's fun and my stressed out job got me wiped out. I'm sure the century will wake me up though. I took my son up to Brian Head last weekend and we had a blast just riding, hanging out and watching the racing. Didn't race though. Between the altitude and another cross country (running) race Thursday I was toast. Worked out for the best though, my son was stoked on the attention and we did some spectacular ST rides through rooty, rocky, slimy, mud-infested forest. My son is totally in love with the bike now (not to mention a few racer cuties he met).

It'll be great to see you, James, STP (hopefully Pilas & more Socalers) representing at RN. Bring the hard tail & kick some @ss! My son might come race too!

By the way, Last RN race I was totally fried for the long course Sunday and dropped all the way to the back right at the gun. Actually had to get off the bike on the first climb for a minute or so cause I thought I was going to pass out. On the second lap an Expert lady, Tammy House, cought and passed me just hooting and hollering and urging us slow Sport focks on. For some reason I got totally charged and just flew by everybody and got on her wheel. She probably thought I was a maniac but I was just so stoked to be racing again that I was laughing giggling and screaming the whole rest of the lap. By the finish I was only 14 seconds off 2nd place! In honor of Tammy's inspiration the kids and I named our new pet hamster after her. Every time I look at the little creature I get stoked all over again! Hamster love? BTW2, yesterday we woke up to 4 Tammy juniors (hey it wasn't me I swear!).
