Please information route Lake Tahoe-Yosemite Park
Dear fellow-cyclists,

My husband and I are going to make a cycling tour through the nortern part of California.
We will start on the 4th of august.
In 14 days we will go from San Francisco to Lassen Volcanic Park, Lake Tahoe, East entrance of Yosemite Park, through the Park and then to Modesto, form where we will take a bus? train? back to San Francisco.
We wonder if any of you has an answer to the following questions:

Between Lake Tahoe and the East Entrance of Yosemite Park we saw on our map 5 times a “Pass” or “Gate” or “Summit”. The exact height is on our map to. What it does not say is how far we will descend each time. There are no data about the lowest points. So we have no clue about the height difference and thus how many meters we have to climb each time.
It would be a great help to get information about this issue!

We will probably cycle for days on a greater height than we are used to in our flat country. Do you have advise for things we should do (or not do) in order to be able to cycle well in that surrounding?

Thank you very much for answering!!
