What do you think of the Mongoose Zero Series?
Hey guys,
I am going to put 2 posts in one post here.
First, What do you think of the Mongoose Zero series?
Are they Entry level bikes, or good bikes for someone with a lot of experience?
What's worth buying? Zero G, G2 or G3?
Are there any big difference between the G2 and G3.
If any of you have had any experience with the Zero Series or just have an opinion, please feel free to post.

Second, what do you think about the 2002 Micargi M1000 Full Suspension Bike? Is it better in performance than the Mongoose Zero series? What's the retail price for this bike?
Is it worth buying this bike, or is it considered a department store bike?

I would appreciate your feedback,
Regards,
XFighter

If you're going to spend that much check out the GIANT Iguana SE, that bikes looks pretty good. light w/good components. Also check out K2. I got my K2 for $300 on sale, but it's a real good bike. i used to ride an old mongoose rockadile alluminum frame, but the bikes they make now don't seem to be the same. just keep shopping around, and the differences in models, are usually the components the bike comes with, or the frame&fork. just make sure you get all the good stuff. you don't want a bike that you always have to adjust on trail, or a bike thats to heavy or unstable.

Quality bikes cost money. Quality bikes with suspension cost more. BUT... Qualtiy bikes are worth it. Remember this: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. A full suspension bike worth riding does not cost $250.
If you saw a shiney new car sitting on a sales lot priced at $500, would you buy it? I certainly wouldn't. Assuming its not stolen, it can't be high quality at that price. Same goes for bikes. Some bikes do look pretty good in the rack at Costco. Don't be fooled.
Buy any mountain bike magazine, you won't see any ads for Motiv, Pacific, Huffy, or Groundpounder bikes in there. There's a reason for that.
Anyway, I hope you get my point.

The only advice that I will give is GO TO A BIKE SHOP!!! Ride bikes that are in your price range, make sure it fits, and make sure you like it. After all it is YOU who will ride it not anyone in here or me.
Second and I cannot stress this enough times apparently, DO NOT BUY A DEPARTMENT STORE BIKE!! In otherwords A BIKE THAT IS FROM WAL-MART, COSTCO, K-MART, ETC.

Personally, I feel that the Zero G series contains decent frames, but you must make significant upgrades. I have the Zero G3 and I added 3 or 4 things including a pretty good Manitou front suspension (it comes with RockShox Jetts). The thing I definetly like is the weight...the frame is very light. If you are a very serious racer or something, then you might want something tougher, but for the average-slighlty above average rider, this is a good bike.

There are some varieties which are used only for entry level for better understanding just check on this link assignmentmasters review blog which has all varieties of mongoose bike in it which can be very much helpful for you to know which bikes suits you.
