I'M LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON MOUNTAIN BIKING AROUND THE SHAWAGUNKS IN NEW YORK. I'M TRYING TO DO A RIDE & CLIMB WEEKEND. BUT I DONT KNOW IF THIS AREA HAS AS GOOD OF RIDING AS IT DOES OF CLIMBING. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE HELPFUL. THANK YOU

Re: INFORMATION ON SHAWAGUNKS
As you are probably aware the park has great climbing. The biking is different. It is mostly carriage roads with very little technical stuff. It is very fast and fairly extensive. Day passes are required and they have areas that are off limits to bikes as well. Especially near the golf course and Mohonk house. Mohonk house is a must see and the view from the tower nearby is great. Enjoy. Posted by JB70072 a 38 year old Cross-Country riding a Cannondale from Bethel, CT on 10/18/00
