I have been stationed in Camp pendalton for about four months now. Im from colorado and i used to ride a lot of cross country and a little bit of freeride. I just finally bought a new bike, a Giant Glory 1. I love the bike, i've been putting it to the test around town, but since im new around here, i don't know where to go for some good trails. I'm looking for some good freeride trails, intermediate range, and maybe even a riding buddy. Like i said, im stationed in camp pendalton, near oceanside, and im basically limited to bus routes and my buddies car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jeff

As a father of another Marine, I say we are all grateful to you for your service to our country.
Years ago, a local bike shop used to sponsor a mountain bike ride on the base at Pendelton. It was a very challenging ride. We always started and finished at Lake O'Neil. The route crossed the river and headed east into the mountains on the base. Check with the people who can give you access/permission and see if you can ride there on the base.
