 MTB Training
Does anyone know of any MTB training programs or personal trainers. I am looking to improve my skills without picking up any bad habits.

I am training for XTERRA at Vail Lake, as well as some other MTB Triathlons and Duathlons, and would be glad to send you what I am doing on the bike. I have self coached myself for 5 years using several different books which I have adapted to what I feel suits me and my riding style. If you are interested, pick up a copy of "Serious Training for Endurance athletes" by Ray Browning, "Training for Cycling" by Davis Phinney, and "The Cyclist's Training Bible" by Joe Friel. You might also check out Carmichael Training Systems (Lance's Coach) online, and Training Bible online. Both offer online coaching with varying degrees of interaction between you and your coach, depending on how much you want to spend ($29.95-$400.00/month). Hope this helps!!

Call Mark at 2 Wheeler Dealer in Brea (Imperial Hwy/57 fwy), He's very good when it comes to getting the most out of his clients.
He is very knowledgeable and his fees are reasonable too!!!
His number at the shop is (714)671-1730 or 671-1793

PS I've ridden with him once and he kicked my butt...

I have been hitting the gym 4 days a week, always wrappin' up my workout with a 20 minute bike ride, crankin' out just over 9 miles in that amount of time, set the bike to "random" and adjust the "tension level" setting to at least 10....anyways, it works for me, I am now clearing Mustard and I Think I Can with no problems now....in the past, they would kick my ass, but, now, I guess I should push myself harder now.

The replies to this post all seem to focus on the fitness aspect of training, though your question was about skills. I've been going through the same thing, so please post if you find any good sources of technical coaching.

In the meantime, I suggest Ned Overend's _Mountain Bike Like a Champion_ (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/002-8571692-0816007).

...Actually not all replies were about fitness, sorry... And the fitness pointers seem right on; I've been using Joe Friel's book.

I want to appreciate your work in changing your old message board and installed this new one which looks premium and has good features to it. I have first seen this type of message board in cheapest dissertation writing services blog which has kept for users to share thoughts and their opinions on the blog. This can improve the user experience and gives him more space to share his thoughts on the blog posts.
